The revalorization of the clerestory and the reconstruction of the tracery in the side chapels have reduced the available wall space. Choices will have to be made among the numerous paintings of variable quality.

The scenes that are part of the altars do not pose any problem. As far as the other canvasses are concerned, it will probably be the works by renowned artists such as Nicolaas de Liemacker, Antoon van den Heuvel, Jan van Cleef, Gillis Le Plat, Erasmus Quellin and J.A Marienhof, a pupil of Teniers that will be maintained. These paintings were accommodated in the Groot Seminarie in 1956 and can be exhibited again together with the altars of which they are a part. Some of the works had been altered to fit into a new context, others show severe gaps and many need re-canvassing; most wedge frames need to be replaced to stretch the canvas.
